First-time cruiser FAQs

When should I book a cruise?+
For peak school holidays and the most popular suites, 9–12 months ahead is ideal. Last-minute deals do appear, but cabin choice is narrower. We can hold a cabin with a low deposit while you decide.
What's the best cabin to choose?+
Balcony cabins are the sweet spot for most cruisers — fresh air and a private view without the top-tier price. Inside cabins are great value; suites add space, perks and sometimes butler service.
Do I need a passport or visa?+
Yes — cruises require a valid passport, often with six months' validity beyond travel. Some itineraries need visas or ESTAs.
Can I cruise without flying?+
Absolutely. P&O, Ambassador, Holland America, Cunard, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean sail from Southampton and other UK ports. Mediterranean, Norwegian fjords, Baltic and even transatlantic crossings are all possible no-fly.
