Italy Holidays 2027
Cities, coastline and lakes — Italy is the easiest place in Europe to combine culture, food and a beach in one holiday.
Rome, Florence and Venice for the classics; the Amalfi Coast, Sardinia, Sicily and Puglia for the sea; Lake Garda and Lake Como for a mix of both with mountains behind.
Italy twin-centres brilliantly by train, and we can package flights, hotels and rail together so you're covered under one ATOL-protected booking.

Best areas to stay in Italy
Lake Garda & Lake Como — lakeside towns, mountains and family-friendly hotels — Garda has Gardaland too. Amalfi Coast & Sorrento — the classic coastline, best paired with Pompeii and Capri. Sardinia — Caribbean-quality beaches and superb resorts on the Costa Smeralda and the south. Sicily — Taormina, Etna, great food and a long season. Rome, Florence & Venice — the city trio, easily combined by high-speed train.
Best Italy hotels for families
Our most-booked family hotels in Italy are Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, Parc Hotels on Lake Garda, Hotel Baia Taormina in Sicily and Marina Corallo and Chia Laguna in Sardinia. We match the hotel to your children's ages, tell you honestly which pools, kids' clubs and room types actually work for families, and can hold rooms while you decide.
Best all-inclusive hotels in Italy
For all-inclusive we recommend Forte Village Resort (full board plus), Chia Laguna Resort, VOI Hotels in Sicily and Sardinia and Bravo Club properties in Puglia. All-inclusive standards vary hugely — ask us and we'll tell you what's genuinely included (drinks brands, à la carte dining, snacks and sports) before you book.
Italy holidays from London
We package Italy holidays from London Gatwick, London Luton and London Stansted, with a choice of airlines, flight times and baggage options. Prices and availability change daily, so ask us for a live quote for your dates.
Italy holidays from London Luton
Yes — we regularly book Italy holidays from London Luton as well as London Gatwick, London Stansted and Manchester. Regional departures are often cheaper than London once you factor in parking and transfers to the airport, and we'll always price both for you.
Italy holidays for teenagers
Lake Garda is the strongest teen choice in Italy — Gardaland, Caneva water park, windsurfing and lakeside cycle paths. On the coast, Sardinia's watersports and Sicily's Etna quad trips and boat days work well. City trips need pacing: two full days per city is usually the limit before they wilt.
Best time to visit Italy
May, June, September and early October are ideal for both cities and coast. July and August are hot and crowded, especially in the cities and around Ferragosto in mid-August. Sicily and Sardinia hold warm sea into October.
Italy airport transfers
Typical airport transfers: Naples to Sorrento 60–75 minutes; Olbia to the Costa Smeralda 20–40 minutes; Cagliari to Chia 45 minutes; Catania to Taormina 45 minutes; Verona or Bergamo to Lake Garda 30–60 minutes. City hotels are usually best reached by train or private car.
Italy holiday prices
As a guide, 3 nights bed & breakfast in Rome or Florence from around £350–£550 per person with flights, 7 nights on Lake Garda from £600–£850 per person, and Sardinia beach resorts from £900–£1,600 per person in summer.
7-night Italy holidays
Seven nights is enough for one region, or a classic three-city rail trip (Rome, Florence, Venice) with two nights each. Ten nights lets you add a beach week to a city stay.
Italy holidays under £2,500
Yes for lakes, Puglia, Sicily and city breaks. The Amalfi Coast and Costa Smeralda in August sit above it, but we can usually find a nearby base that delivers the same trip for less.
